Sitting up!

This past Sunday Phil decided it was time for Zach to learn to sit up, and Zach agreed! Phil and Jennifer helped him a few times and he caught on really quickly. And, as you can tell from the pictures, he's super happy about it!

I put him in the high chair this morning with some puffs, he hasn't caught on to the pincer grasp yet and didn't get any of the puffs in his mouth, but he seemed to like trying!

Summer fun*

Jennifer's last day of her first year of preschool was June 7th and we've been staying busy ever since!

Jennifer really loved her first year of preschool and I wanted to post these pictures to show how much she's grown and changed...

She has really been missing her friends this summer! We've been seeing a lot of her friends at play dates and birthday parties, but she's ready to go back to school to be with them... and Phil and I are glad she likes school so much!

Jennifer had her first ballet recital and she was so excited to get to dance "on the big stage" ... her class danced to Sugar Sugar by The Archies and it was so stinkin cute!! We ordered the DVD from her dance studio, I can't wait to get it so she can see herself on stage.

Zach has been busy too ... he's decided that he likes food now and is getting fruits or veggies twice a day. He loves trying to keep up with big sister but hates tummy time - if it was up to him he'd jump up and run off and skip crawling all together. He got to have his first class at The Little Gym last week and he loved it! Hopefully getting to hang out with other babies will encourage him to want to crawl!

So far our summer is off to a super fun start! We're looking forward to more trips to the lake, swimming at the pool with friends, and play dates to the museum, BounceU, indoor playgrounds, and any other fun places we can find in the air conditioning ; )

Six months old!

Zachary is six months old today! He is getting so big and so close to scooting around on his belly! We took Zach to the pool for the first time and he loved it just as much as he loves bath time! He loves reaching and grabbing at anything he's close to, laughs and talks a lot, still loves watching his big sister and still doesn't like cereal. He's not into food at all, he's tried avocado and banana but wasn't excited about either one. He has his six month check up next week and I can't wait to find out how much he's grown!

Weekend at the lake

This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend so we packed up and headed to the lake house. The weather was nice and warm, perfect for taking out the boat and jet ski. Jennifer loves both, and the faster the better. This was Zach's first time on the boat - it took him a little while to get used to wearing a life jacket, but he seemed to like riding on the boat. He fell asleep both times we took him out!

Notice that Jennifer is only holding on with one hand - she loves going fast on the jet ski and jumping over waves!
